The province of Puerto Plata, which includes the towns of Sosua and Cabarete, has a vast range of exciting activities from canyoning, horseback riding and go-karting to zip lining over a tropical jungle. While these activities might be a little too exciting for the little ones, there is also a selection of kids camps like summer surf camps,  tennis camp, and even circus classes where your kids can make new friends while you slip away to enjoy a little quiet time.

Our properties in Sosua and Cabarete are at most a 20-minute journey from the airport. Once you are settled in, transportation is easy with the choice of inexpensive public transport and taxis. Even better, most of our properties are centrally located and within walking distance of the beach, shopping, and restaurants.

We know price plays a huge part in deciding your holiday destination. So you’ll be happy to know that Sosua and Cabarete are affordable. When it comes to housing, there is a wide variety of accommodation with 2-bedroom units starting at $80 USD per night. Eating out is reasonable with the average meal costing around $10 USD. But since all of our rentals come equipped with a kitchen and the grocery stores are nearby, you can cook at home and save a few bucks. And since you are at the beach, there is always something to do with tons of free fun all around. From climbing trees to beach volleyball, no one in your family will be bored.

Delicious Food Choices in Sosua and Cabarete

Children can often be fussy eaters so obviously food choices come into play when deciding on a family vacation location. Both Cabarete and Sosua have restaurants for every picky eater. Choices include local cuisine, Italian, vegan, vegetarian, American style, German, the list goes on and on. If you’re cooking in the casa, the grocery stores are close by and stocked with fresh produce, local products, and plenty of imported goods, too!

Educational Experiences in Sosua and Cabarete

Did you know that the north coast of the Dominican Republic is where Christopher Columbus first stepped foot on Hispaniola? There is a chance you could spot an ancient cannon or anchor on a clear day snorkeling in the bay. How cool would that be?
