Dominican Republic: Cabarete offers more security

Cabarete offers more security for tourism

These days you will find many surveillance cameras in Cabarete. Several cameras are already installed at almost all critical points in Cabarete with more to come. Already many accidents could be documented (especially in the center).

The safety of Cabarete is very important for tourism, there is another project in the pipeline, almost unique in its kind: lifeguard towers on the beach of Cabarete. The “Lifeguard Tower” should not only look futuristic, above all, it should be functional. This lifeguard project will serve to protect swimmers during the day and at night have a purpose to light up the beach for night time security.  Life jackets and other rescue equipment will be available and more security cameras will be installed on top of the towers. At night, LED lights will illuminate the beach and make it more secure. The idea is to have 5 posts across the beach and one circulating between each other giving 8 hour a day jobs though having 10 hours of day time lifeguard cover.

One goal: a clear signal to the whole world that Cabarete tourism and security is modern and innovative.

6th of October. This date is mainly for the cruise industry investors in Maimon, Amber Cove. An investment of 85 million USD by Carnival Corp. Amber Cove will welcome its first cruise ship when the Carnival Victory arrives on October 6, 2015. The Victory will be the first of eight Carnival ships to visit the new port between October 2015 and April 2016, accounting for 37 calls and more than 100,000 passengers. The cruise facility can accommodate up to two cruise ships simultaneously. The port will offer plazas with a marketplace, restaurants, bars, recreation, and a transportation.

President Medina toured the construction site of what Carnival executives David Candib and Jeffrey Rannik affirm will be the Caribbean’s most important cruise port-of-call, bringing 350,000 tourists in its first year. Amber Cove Cruise Port will generate over 320 direct jobs.

carnival victory

Amber Cove will be featured as a port on select sailings of Carnival Breeze, Carnival Glory, Carnival Splendor and Carnival Victory from Miami; Carnival Conquest from Fort Lauderdale; Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Valor from Port Canaveral; and Carnival Fantasy from Charleston.

All this is linked to Cabarete, because they will organize trips to Cabarete for cruise tourists (as they say). Cabarete recently got traffic lights to make a very busy intersection safer. Surveillance cameras, traffic lights, towers for lifeguards… So, much to do, lot’s of projects in the pipeline and because Cabarete is our loving home, these topics are very important to us and future tourists.
